While the food truck frenzy has long gripped, and even passed through many cities around our country, that mobile eating culture is just now arriving in my hometown of Kansas City.

Late last night, I dropped by Port Fonda, Patrick Ryan’s shiny postcard from Mexico parked in the lot adjacent to the Rieger Grill & Exchange on the corner of 20th and Main Streets in the Crossroads District of Kansas City.

In this oppressively humid heat hugging the century mark, he and his small crew are serving a short menu of tacos, tortas, and chilaquiles, all of which we tried, and all of which were delicious.  I can’t wait to go back.

If you’re in the neighborhood, do give them a shout.

For this thirty-sixth photo of the week, I give you the tip jar at Port Fonda, a Spanglish illustration of the interpreted Mexican street food that Ryan’s cooking up in his chrome Airstream.  I love this photo.
