Recently, I was contacted by Lori Fredrickson of Popular Photography Magazine. She had stumbled across my flickr account and photos and read my blog. In a scheduled phone interviewed, Ms. Fredrickson interviewed me from her offices in New York City. Her article, entitled “My Project: Edible Complex,” which features some of my food photos is published in the January issue, which should be hitting the newstands this week. Alternatively, you can read the article and see a gallery of my photos at PopPhoto.com.
All of the photos you see in the gallery were requested by Fredrickson and her editors. You may recognize many of them from my previous posts, “banner credit…” about Chef Dave Racicot, “young talent…” about my friend Joe West, as well as my dinner at Chez Panisse and lunch at Per Se.

Hey UE! I just picked up the popphoto magazine, and I absolutely LOVE those pictures! I read it before lunch time and those avocado balls looked so delicious. WAY TO GO MAN! I want to grow up to be just like you!
Thanks Chang, for your kind words.
Cool pub man. Congrats!
I too heart photography and food! Regret that I discover your blog only a few days ago….but guess what, I’ve been inspired to make your 4″ Gianduja Torte! Assembly in progress!!! Thank you so much.
Thanks LIsa. I hope you have fun catching up on my blog. Any updates on the mini tortes?
Indeed the mini tortes were very sumptuous but the frosting could use a lot more practice. Only after I’ve finished the frosting did I realize that it would be best to pour the ganache (warm) over the torte to preserve the smoothness and sheen. Nonetheless, here’s the finished product. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zuwai/3641648622/in/set-72157594146642171/ Thanks again for the inspiration!
LIsa, I’d say you did a pretty fantastic job. It looks delicious!
Thx UE! I’m looking forward to reading your edible adventures.
