Wow. Apparently, Thanksgiving is no longer the Christmas season opener. Halloween has now become the official start to the “holiday season.” I heard the first Christmas song of the year on the radio the other day.
I’m generally not the “bah humbug” type, as Christmas is probably my favorite holiday of the year. But, does anyone else find the commerciality of the holiday just a bit overwhelming? It seems that the spirit and meaning behind the occasion has become mired (er, lost) amidst the retail, the commercials, the radio and the Starbuck’s drink list. I’m exhausted already just thinking about it all… *sigh*

Ah, yes, the Spirit of Commercialism is here. Tra-la-la-la-laaaaa…..
I was taken aback when I saw the decorations up for sale in Costco at the end of August.
Just Say No-el.
