@ mike: It seems we’ve had opposite experiences. I’ve had nothing but great service at the two Trotter restaurants I’ve been to. The food at both, however, left me confused and unexcited. I hope your visit to The Mansion is better than mine.

The Mansion. I’ve been to Trotter’s original in Chicago and loved it, but have found customer service less than excellent via phone/email at the Vegas spot. Your review and the one at “Food She Thought” made raku unmissable for the price.

Alright – I’m cancelling a reservation at Bar Charlie because I got a spot at Raku. I’ve already got Savoy and Robuchon on the schedule so this should be something completely different. As usual, epicure, you sold me. :-)

Looks like Aburiya Raku is similar to Aburiya Kinnosuke in NYC. Not sure if they are related. Looking at your dishes, seems like AR has a little bit French influences and modern twist than AK. I have never been to AR, but many times to AK. It’s a must stop whenever we’re in town. Good to know that Vegas has something offstrip to offer (other than Lotus of Siam, which we’re not sure what the hype is all about).
