demise? is it closed??? i hadn't heard!!

as for your pronounciations - all very fine and well - just to note that they are the Cantonese pronounciations. sesame balls - do you mean the slightly-larger-than-golfball-sized ones that are filled with "do sa" (red bean paste) and deep fried, or do you mean the irresistable little marble-sized ones that are black sesame sweet paste inside of a sticky rice shell served in hot sweet soups ("tze ma tong yuan")? both are good - though i much prefer the latter?

do report on "nck!"

The Year of the Dog has unfortunately been ushered in with the demise of New China King. Where's a girl to get good dim sum outside Bo Ling's? I actually invited Mr. Ferruzza to dine with me and my husband at NCK but of course never heard from him. We moved here 10 years ago from LA with its infinite variety of dim sum palaces and I don't want to have to drive 1600 miles for some good jin doi (sesame balls). BTW, you can call congee "jook" and they will know what you're talking about.
